Corrie
Schneider
Executive Director

Corrie holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University, where she specialized in strategic management and marketing, as well as an Honours Political Science Degree from Queen's University. Corrie has applied her business development and strategic management expertise in the non-profit sector for two decades, working with national, provincial, and local organizations. In 2008 Corrie started MindBridge Strategies, a strategic consultancy for non-profit organizations, and has served as the Managing Director at MindBridge for the past eight years. As a volunteer, Corrie most recently served as President of the Board of Interim Place (Peel Region), a shelter for women & children experiencing abuse. For her work at Interim Place, Corrie was awarded the Community Cares Award and nominated for the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award. Corrie is thrilled to work with the One Spark team to deliver programming that will break down barriers to financial sustainability for women impacted by violence.

Christina
Barbato
President

Christina is the co-founder of SP Nutra by leaving her job at Rochon Genova LLP, a prominent class action and personal injury firm in downtown Toronto, to work full-time developing natural healthcare products and finding the best way to make them available to as many people as possible. Soon after moving to Toronto, Christina joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto as a mentor to her "Little" and in 2011, was awarded the honour of Big Sister of the Year.  Christina brings her passion for equality, justice and social responsibility to the One Spark team and hopes to positively and meaningfully contribute to its mission and vision.

Marlo
Taylor
Vice-President

Marlo Taylor is Partner, Managing Director at Gage Communication in Toronto.  Prior to launching Gage, Marlo spent a number of years working at large agencies, providing senior-level counsel to various pharmaceutical and healthcare-related clients. Marlo has worked in therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiovascular, women’s health (menopause, contraception), diabetes, lung health, dermatology, immunology, urology, and arthritis. She has also worked with clients in the area of stem cell research. Marlo is a board member of the CSHP Research and Education Foundation, working to help promote pharmacist-led research in Canada. Marlo is a graduate of Queen’s University and holds a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations.  She is also a passionate advocate for social justice and is strongly committed to working towards an end to violence against women.

Lynn
Bice
Treasurer

Lynn Bice is the president of Bice Consulting Ltd., providing pharmacy benefit management strategy counsel to Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and group benefits advisors, and other interested stakeholders. She has been involved in the healthcare, insurance and Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) sectors at senior levels for over 20 years. Lynn’s business expertise is complemented by her experience in benefit management consulting, and support of group insurer and TPA clients and their PBM requirements, in her previous role as Director, Customer Services. Lynn holds a B. Sc. in Pharmacy from the University of Toronto, which initiated her career in retail pharmacy. She believes strongly in the importance of volunteer work in her community, particularly around issues of support and empowerment for women and children, and served previously on the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization for women and children experiencing abuse. Lynn is proud to help build the vision of One Spark where no woman faces financial barriers to living a life free of violence.

Howard
Paskowitz
Board Member

Howard Paskowitz graduated cum laude from Yeshiva University with a B.A. in economics.  He completed his M.B.A. at York University in 1999 specializing in real Estate and Finance.  He has worked at Medallion Corporation since 1999 and is their Senior Development Manager focusing on real estate development throughout the GTA.  Howard is married to Devora and they have 4 children.  Howard has served as a Director on several not-for-profit boards and is currently the president of his children's school, Netivot HaTorah.  Howard is excited to work with One Spark and believes strongly in its mandate of creating opportunities and financial security for women transitioning from violent situations.

Jo-Anne
Liburd
Board Member

Jo-Anne is a Communications Consultant who has worked primarily with not-for-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations, including women living with violence, for more than a decade. She brings knowledge of anti-oppression and access and equity issues to One Spark, as well as a passion for social justice. Jo-Anne spent 16 months in Sri Lanka volunteering with a local rural development NGO in 2008/09 and, now returned to her home town of Toronto, she continues to volunteer to alleviate local and global poverty. Jo-Anne is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and has a post-degree certificate in Public Relations from Humber College.

Flavio
Volpe
Honorary Board Member

Flavio is the President of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association. Previously, he served as Managing Director of WIRSOL Solar Canada, overseeing operations and leading efforts to foster and secure new opportunities in public and private markets in Canada. Before WIRSOL, he served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) in the Province of Ontario. Prior to MEDT, he managed the rebranding of SmartCentres, Canada’s largest retail developer and of ResREIT, one of Canada’s largest residential REIT’s. Flavio holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto. His community work has included fundraising for the Royal Ontario Museum, volunteering for Heritage Toronto, coaching girls and boys soccer and baseball in North Toronto and serving on the board of the Columbus Centre
